Major renovation of two interconnected buildings, to remain largely occupied during construction.  Scope at Schomburg Building includes renovation of Langston Hughes Auditorium including replacement of Governair rooftop package units that service the space, installation of $1.5M A/V package at south and east facades. Construction of new two-story Annex to connect to existing Reading Room adjacent to MTA subway entrance, retrofit of building w/ smoke purge system, upgrade of building HVAC system, and major interior renovation. Scope at Landmark Building includes abatement and full replacement of roof, major façade restoration, and comprehensive interior gut renovation (11,000 S.F.), including structural modifications to allow for additional loads at each floor.
